PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is offering an 80% reduction in summons fees from Dec 9 to 12.
The offer was implemented in conjunction with the celebration of the 100 Days of Malaysian Family Aspirations which will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) starting this Thursday.
JPJ said in a statement that the offer was also given to all summons notices that are still active and the compound period is still in effect, provided payment is made within four days, but it does not apply to cases that are still in court.
“The reduction in the compound rate is given to all summonses for offenses that can be compounded as listed in the Road Transport (Compounding of Offenses) Rules 2003.
"The offer does not apply to cases that have been registered in court, including those with the status of unreleased arrest warrants without release (DNAA)," he said according to a Kosmo report.
The summons payment facility is provided through the JPJ Mobile Unit and JPJ Kiosk around KLCC and all JPJ offices nationwide.
The public is advised to check the status of the summons first, especially the records involving the AES summons (via the JPJ mySIKAP portal) or at any JPJ office counter.
