Two policemen were arrested for joining a drug party

Kuala Lumpur: Two policemen were among 14 individuals arrested after they were found participating in a wild party at a luxury residence in Changkat Raja Chulan, here, yesterday.
Head of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Kuala Lumpur, Assistant Commissioner Sahar Abd Latif said, his party made the raid at 9.30 pm based on information and intelligence.
"In the raid, a total of 14 visitors, seven men and women aged between 20 and 40, were arrested.
"As a result of the identity check, two of them are policemen with the rank of Lance Corporal and Support Constable from the General Duty Branch," he said in a statement today.
He said the inspection at the premises found ketamine weighing 5.56 grams worth RM834.
According to him, the initial investigation found that the wild party known as the 'Ketamine Party' was held to entertain friends while using the type of drug.
"The organizer is a 39 -year -old man who made the invitation through a phone call and did not charge any fees to visitors. The organizer rented the premises for RM220 a day," he said.
He said the urine screening test found that all those detained were positive for ketamine.
Sahar said the case was being investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952 and Section 15 (1) (a) of the same act.
According to him, homeowners and organizers can also be prosecuted under Section 13 (c) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said they were also charged a compound of RM4,000 per person according to Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) with a total compound of RM56,000.
