Mauricio Pochettino was reduced to tears as Tottenham reached the Champions League final.

Spurs appeared to be heading out of the competition after falling 3-0 behind on aggregate.

Pochettino's men trailed 1-0 from the first leg in north London and goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech appeared to have sent Ajax through.

But Lucas Moura scored twice early in the second half and then struck the winner in the fifth minute of added time.

The goal sparked wild scenes on the pitch and on the Tottenham bench as Pochettino and his staff celebrated.

Discussing his emotion, he told BT Sport: "It is difficult to talk. I am so emotional. Thank you football. My players are heroes.

"The second half was amazing. This type of emotion is impossible without football.

"It is an amazing moment and it is difficult to explain in words."

Tottenham will now face Liverpool in the final of the Champions League in Madrid next month.

The Reds mounted their own incredible comeback against Barcelona 24 hours before Spurs saw off Ajax.

Defender Danny Rose said: "We saw Liverpool last night. It goes to show it's not over until it's over. Disappointed with the first leg how we started and we started like that tonight. But after the break we came out.

"The gaffer mentioned Liverpool's display at the hotel before the match - the gaffer doesn't mind us losing but we have to lose the right way.

"We're lucky we've gone through and we look forward to the Champions League final."
