Aishah wins Gegar Vaganza 4 (GV4)

Aisyah is GV4 champion

KOTA ISKANDAR: Legendary songstress Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin beat five other challengers to win the fourth season of Astro Ria’s veterans’ singing contest Gegar Vaganza (GV4) last night.
The 52-year-old singer from Jempol, Negri Sembilan who was popular in the 1980s impressed the Gegar Vaganza judges that she still has got her vocal prowess to win the hearts of many and emerged as GV4 champion.

The finale, held at the Pinewood studio here saw some 10,000 fans cheering for their favourite finalists.
Aisyah performed two songs, All By Myself by Celine Dion and a duet with fellow contestant Liza Hanim on Supergirls by De Fam, during the Battle Out showcase.
“I got butterflies everytime it’s performance time and the feeling grew even more when I entered the semi-finals," said Aishah gleefully.
But she feels blessed to have received much encouragement and motivation from the rest of the GV4 finalists and members of the jury panel especially head judge Datuk Ramli M.S.

“He (Ramli) said I need to show what I am made off as my over 30 years of singing experience is gold," she said.
Besides the coveted GV4 champion title and trophy, Aishah also took home RM100,000 cash prize, and a piece of a bungalow unit land courtesy of Bina Megan Empire.
She also won an Eastern Europe holiday package and a set of jewelleries from DSV Gold and Jewelry.

Liza Hanim had to be contented coming in second place. She received RM50,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The third place went to Lan Solo, while Hazami came in fourth.
Indonesian singer Firman Siagian took the fifth spot while the sixth placing went to Tia Jinbara.

The final showdown was aired live at 9pm on Astro Ria.
