22 Russian, Vietnamese, Indonesian GROs Among
KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-two guest relations officers (GROs) from Russia, Vietnam and Indonesia are among 31 people arrested in an integrated anti-vice and gambling operation at a three-star hotel in the city yesterday.
Dang Wangi Police chief ACP Mohd Sukri Kaman said during the four-hour operation which began at 5 pm, police also detained nine men believed to be gamblers and caretakers of an illegal online gambling centre operating at the hotel.
All of them aged between 19 and 32, he said.
“Police also seized several slot machines and computers sets allegedly used for the gambling activities,” he told reporters here, adding that further investigations were being done.
