KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will investigate reports of a character from animated series “Upin & Ipin” being exploited by irresponsible parties.

The action was taken following a Bernama exclusive report on inappropriately redrawn pictures of the character “Kak Ros” which had been uploaded on a graphic design website.

“From initial information gathered, the obscene images are from print screens of the original series which had been altered to become lewd pictures.

“For the time being, MCMC is tracking down the parties responsible for modifying and uploading the content for further action,” the commission said in a statement here, Saturday.

The MCMC also called on members of the public with information on the matter to come forward to assist investigations. – Bernama
