KUALA SELANGOR: Furious that police have yet to arrest burglars who broke into his aunt's house, a man stormed the Jeram police station on Monday armed with a ‘parang.’

The 'attack' however was short-lived as the 26-year-old man ended up in police custody and sent to the hospital for check-up.

Kuala Selangor police chief Superintendent Ruslan Abdullah said in the incident, the suspect, clad in jubah, was angry that police have yet to detain the burglars who broke into his aunt's home recently.

"He barged into the station, headed towards the reception area and questioned why police have not arrested any of the burglars.

"He then lost his patience and smashed two computers, a photocopy machine, and a Very High Frequency radio on the table."

Ruslan said moments later, the suspect's family arrived at the station and managed to calm him down but not before he tried to slash his elder brother.

Police arrested him after he handed over the parang to his father.

Checks showed that the suspect suffered from psychiatrict disorder after an accident two years ago.

He is also undergoing treatment at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia medical centre.
