KUANTAN: Four men on their way to Genting Highlands were injured when the car they were travelling in plummeted into a 60-metre deep ravine, early Friday morning.

Bentong acting police chief, Deputy Superintendent S. Somu said in the 5am incident, the driver, S. Vijayavarman, 27, was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for injuries sustained to the head and right leg.

He added that the front seat passenger known as Dash was sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment together with another victim, S. Surenraj, 21, who suffered from a fractured left hand.

Meanwhile, P. Kirenraj, 27, was treated at Bentong Hospital for bodily injuries.

“The victims were believed to be on their way to Genting Highlands when their Toyota Corolla car lost control as they were going downhill through a winding route, made worse by the rain and fog.

“Their car skidded to the left of the road before plunging into the ravine.The victims were rescued with the integrated effort of the police, firemen and the Genting Highlands auxiliary police,” Somu said.
