Bersih 5 set for Nov 19

PETALING JAYA: Bersih 2.0 today announced that Bersih 5 street rally will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 19.
Its chairman Maria Chin Abdullah said as a run-up to the event, several nationwide roadshows will be conducted beginning Oct 1.
"We will hold nationwide Bersih Convoy in six regions - Kangar for Northern Peninsula, Johor Bahru (Southern Peninsula), Kota Bharu (East Coast), Lumut (West Coast), Sandakan (Sabah) and Miri (Sarawak)," she said.
Maria said the objective of the convoy is to raise awareness about Bersih 5's demands for institutional reforms and the severity of the 1Malaysian Development Bhd (1MDB) issue.
The Bersih convoy will ultimately culminate towards the Bersih 5 rally, she said.
