PETALING JAYA: A man has threatened to sexually assault G25 spokesperson Datuk Noor Farida Ariffin (pic) over her group's call to review the Syariah laws on khalwat (close proximity).
Animal rescuer Sharul Nizam Ab Rahim uploaded a status on his Facebook page, describing his plans to break into Noor Farida's house and sexually assault her.
"I am on the way to G25 Nur Farida's house. I will enter her bedroom. Once I am on the bed, please contact the religious investigating officers. If you pity me, then just call them tomorrow night. At least I can try her first tonight," added Sharul Nizam.
He also tagged the post with an emoticon saying that he was "feeling wonderful".
In a comment, he said that Noor Farida had no respect for the religious laws in each state.
“She can make lots of Muslims angry. So, I can also make other people angry,” said Sharul Nizam.
When netizens commented that his post about sexual assault was not funny, he said that it was his "human right" and that he will continue to do what he wants even if he is called "low".
When asked why he is not respecting the human rights of Noor Farida, Sharul Nizam claims that he is.
"I am celebrating the different ways of implementing human rights," he said in a comment.
However, Sharul Nizam also denied that he plans to rape Noor Farida.
"When did I say rape? Don't spin my words," he said.
Noor Farida told a press conference Sunday after a G25 forum titled “Islam in a Constitutional Democracy” that the group would propose to the Government to review or abolish Syariah laws which were not in line with the spirit of the Federal Constitution.
She said Islam was a religion of justice, mercy and compassion and that intruding on another individual’s privacy was against it.
