Woman gets one-year’s clothing supply from Zalora after husband’s ban plea goes viral

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 ― An online shopper whose husband, in a prank, tried to get her banned from shopping website Zalora, will not likely need to visit the site for a year after today after the company decided to shower her with a year’s supply of clothes.
The happy surprise was chronicled on Zalora’s Facebook page, which showed pictures of staff members carrying boxes of clothes to the home of Nuzaimah Ideris and her husband Radzi Ali yesterday.
The album, titled “A sweet surprise from Zalora”, has so far been shared 95 times and recorded 404 likes.
The clothes were apparently a gift from Zalora to the heavily pregnant Nuzaimah, who her husband described as an avid online shopper.
In the photographs, a happy Nuzaimah was seen posing with her gifts, along with Zalora staff members and husband Radzi, with the album’s caption reading, “He wanted her banned from the site, she got a year's supply of clothes instead! Check out their sweet love story with ZALORA”.
On his own Twitter account, Radzi also posted a picture of him and his wife, along with the message: “ZALORA Hadiahkan Si Isteri Stok Pakaian Percuma Selama Setahun!http://t.co/DCusheZaoG @ZaloraMalaysia @Rad7i ‪#‎Viralhttp://t.co/CdQofErIfX”.
The happy father also received his share of gifts from Zalora consisting of apparels and a watch.
“I intended something else, but what came out of it is a sweet surprise,” the online social media advertising consultant said, laughing.
“My wife is not a kaki shopping (shopaholic), but she loves online shopping and I just wanted to prank her,” he added.
Radzi said that Zalora had privately contacted him through his Facebook account and had notified him that the company would be visiting the couple at their home in Cheras with their one year's clothing supply.
“I chose to keep it a secret to surprise my wife..wanted to make her happy,” he added.
But the couple’s celebration did not end at the surprise visit from Zalora yesterday. Nuzaimah, an officer in Universiti Malaya (UM), also went into labour today and delivered the couple’s first child.
“She got her clothes yesterday and went into labour at 12pm today… she is still in the labour room now and we are expecting our first baby, a girl,” the 31-year-old Radzi told Malay Mail Online.
In a “prank” on November 29, Radzi made a plea to Zalora to ban his wife from the website.
According to his Facebook profile, Radzi, the founder and chief executive officer of Levida Malaysia, a beauty product site, had initially asked that the e-commerce platform inform his wife that the web server is down.
“Hi Zalora, if you see my wife shopping here, ignore her ok. Just pretend and say that the server is down or the computer is faulty.
“Just come up with any excuse you can find. By the way, my wife’s name is Nuzaimah. Remember that ok.”
Following Zalora’s response, Radzi went on to ask Zalora to place a ban on his wife, to which, Zalora wrote, “Haha alright Radzi Ali, if that’s what you want, we will try to ban your wife. Have a good weekend!”
The wife also jumped into the conversation and said it wouldn’t be a good move for Zalora to ban a potential client like herself.
“... Don’t disappoint your client, Zalora. Come on… Cheers for Zalora… Ermmm… By the way, how can I get discounts from you? Lol.”
The thread ended with Zalora asking the couple to privately message them. The original message has been shared over 21 times and liked by more than 345 people.
