Comedian Russell Peters back in Malaysia next April

Popular comedian Russell Peters will return to Malaysia on April 10 next year as part of “The Russell Peters Almost Famous World Tour”.
Peters's first show at Stadium Negara in 2012 sold 16,000 tickets, a feat no other comedians achieved. That world tour attracted some 300,000 people in 26 countries.
His show this time around, at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam, promises "all new material", according to his promoters, LOL Events.
“I use the interaction to take me from bit to bit. Some guys go on-stage with a script and don’t deviate from it. That’s not my style. I have my set and know what I want to cover; I just use the audience to move me in certain directions. It’s very collaborative and each show is unique," said Peters, one of the top ten Highest Earning Comics in the US since 2009, as listed by Forbes.
The Almost Famous World Tour will see him performing at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, as well as in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, with more international dates to be announced soon.
The Canadian-born Peters was one of the first stand-up comedians to self-finance, self-produce and distribute his own comedy specials and DVDs, with "Red, White and Brown" and "The Green Card Tour". The DVDs went on to sell over 350,000 units across North America.
The comedian is also known for his charitable side, donating more than a million dollars over the past several years to such charities as Brampton Civic Hospital, Heart House Hospice, Gilda’s Club, the MS Society and sponsoring a scholarship at his old high-school.
