Two-year-old killed by reversing car "driven" by elder brother
PARIT BUNTAR: A two-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a reversing car with his older brother allegedly playing inside in Taman Kerian near here.
Mohd Adam was found sandwiched between the car and the wall of the house in the 12.30pm incident on Wednesday. He died of serious head injuries at the scene.
His father, Mohd Ali Hussin, 53, said the incident occurred after he returned home to pick up goods after sending his wife to Alor Pongsu, Bagan Serai. 
"I rushed out after hearing a loud noise outside the house and found my son, Aiman Yasin, trying to start the car engine but to no avail. The car reversed and hit Mohd Adam who was playing behind it," he said.
Kerian police chief Supt Mat Fauzi Nayan confirmed the incident.
"Sedih adik dah tak da. Aiman sayang adik." (Sad that adik is longer here. Aiman loves adik.)
This was all four-year old Aiman Yasin Mohd Ali uttered when asked on the death of his two-year old brother, Mohd Adam Mohd Ali, in a freak accident on Wednesday noon.
Aiman Yasin had accidently reversed their father's car into his younger brother, killing him on the spot, at their house in Taman Kerian here.
Asked further on his feeling on the tragic event, Aiman Yasin just remained quiet, before murmuring "tak tauu" (Don't know).
According to their sister, Siti Nurhaliza Mohd Ali, 14, Aiman Yasin had been keeping to himself since the tragedy.
"He would play by himself and occasionally just stared blankly. He was extremely close to Mohd Adam because they had been play mates since small.
"Maybe he has no friends now ... just keep to himself," she said.
Mohd Adam was buried at the Pusat Bandar Parit Buntar Muslim Cemetery at 5pm yesterday after his remains were claimed by family members following a post-mortem at the Parit Buntar Hospital earlier.
An air of sadness enveloped the cemetery when his mother, Halimah Sulaiman, 40, wept uncontrollably during the funeral.
Meanwhile, Mohd Adam's father, Mohd Ali Hussin, 43, said he regretted the tragedy which befell his son.
"I take this as a test on my faith and I will face it with all my strength," he said, adding he had been tormented by the incident.
It was reported that Mohd Ali had just returned home to pick up his daughter to send her to school when the accident happened.
While he was inside the house, Aiman Yasin sat in the driver's seat while Mohd Adam was behind the vehicle. When the boy started the car, it reversed and hit the victim.
