Female student survives school abduction

JOHOR BAHRU: A female student managed to escape an attempted abduction after being run over by a perodua Kancil in front of her school in Taman Molek, Johor Jaya, here this morning.
Seri Alam District Police Chief Superintendan Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said that in the incident at 6.50am, the 13-year-old victim was approached by an unidentified suspect after getting off the school van.
He said the local man is believed to have approached the student in a car before pretending to ask the victim for help sending a form to the school.
"The victim was asked to get into the suspect's car but he refused. The suspect then pulled the victim into the car.
"The victim was then taken away. However, he managed to escape after about 400 metres from the scene," he said in a statement today.
According to Mohd Sohaimi, the victim who did not suffer any injuries then asked for the public's help.
"Further investigations are being carried out in accordance with Section 363 of the Penal Code and police are actively tracking suspects," he said.
