KL City advanced to the final of the Malaysia Cup 2021 after beating Melaka United through a penalty shootout.
Kuala Lumpur City started well with an early goal by J. Partiban who managed to take advantage of the chaos in the Melaka United penalty box after a corner kick in the 9th minute.
Continuing the second half, Melaka United improved the game and managed to equalize through a tap in Ahmad Syamin in the 65th minute.
The match continued into extra time after a 1-1 draw until the end of 90 minutes of the game but no additional goals were produced and dragged to the penalty shootout.
Giovane Gomes' failure to complete Melaka United's 3rd penalty gave Kuala Lumpur City an absolute victory.
KL City will meet Johor Darul Ta'zim at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on November 30.
