Tunku Ismail's view of Hans Isaac's 'grass act'
NST
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Stadium Corporation chairman Datuk Hans Isaac is working on getting his act right on grass maintenance.
In the build-up to the Malaysia Cup final between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Terengganu at the National Stadium on Friday, the celebrity has been giving updates on the field's conditions on his social media pages.
This has caught the attention of JDT owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim who is reported to have "sponsored" the zeon zoysia pitch, worth RM1.4 million, at the National Stadium.
Tunku Ismail has "revealed" the latest condition of the field.
Accompanied by four photos on Tunku Ismail's social media page is a caption that reads: "Good standard for the final of Malaysia Cup.
"Looks like your formula is working @hansisaac."
It is unclear whether Tunku Ismail is being sarcastic or complimenting Hans.
But the photos suggest the former with a line drawn on one of them.
In October, during a Merdeka Tournament match between Malaysia and India at the National Stadium. patches of grass were seen flying off players' boots.
And after last month's Coldplay concert, photos of the field looking yellowish and seemingly "damaged" surfaced.
Subsequently, Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said the affected grass will be replaced immediately and at no cost as there is a grass nursery near the stadium.
