TUMPAT: A woman who is also a cosmetics sales agent is believed to have been kidnapped from her home in Kampung Semat Jal, Wakaf Bharu, here yesterday afternoon.

The victim, Rosnazirah Mohd Naim, 36, was reportedly kidnapped by an unknown group at 4.10pm in a Toyota Vios car.

His relatives, who declined to be identified, when contacted, claimed that the group of men came to the house before one of them knocked on the door and greeted them.

"The door was opened by the victim and the man asked if the victim's name was Azi. The victim said yes and then he was dragged out and put in the car.



"The man allegedly showed his gun to the victim's father and daughter who were in the house, besides threatening them if they did anything.

"Her father who saw Azi being dragged into the car tried to save her, but one of the men allegedly also pointed a 'Rambo' knife, causing the victim's father to retreat and could only watch  he said.


He said, his party received information that Rosnazirah was taken towards Pengkalan Kubor, which is the border area of ​​the country, causing the victim's husband to rush there, but his wife failed to be found.

"Some local residents claim to have seen a woman being taken by a group of men on a boat to a neighboring country, the Toyota Vios they were riding in was also found at an illegal base there.

"The victim's husband tracked his wife to a neighboring country and has not returned until today. As far as we know, Azi has no enemies and we have not received any calls asking for ransom so far.

"It is not certain if anyone was not satisfied with him as long as she ran the cosmetics business. The victim's mother and father are still shocked, saddened by this incident," he said, informing them that they also prayed for Rosnazirah to be found safe.

Earlier, a video recording from a closed-circuit camera (CCTV) from the victim's residence, which lasted 2 minutes and 51 seconds, showed the kidnapping incident.

Tumpat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Amran Dolah when confirming the police received a report related to the incident, said further investigations were being made and advised the public not to make any speculations that could affect the investigation.

KOTA BHARU: A 36-year-old woman has been reported missing since yesterday in Kampung Semat Jal, Tumpat, and is believed to have been kidnapped.

Tumpat District Police chief ACP Amran Dolah said that in the 5.10 pm incident, the victim was believed to have been kidnapped by four men using a brown-coloured Toyota Vios vehicle.

"The suspects are also said to be armed with pistols and the car was seen being driven towards Wakaf Bharu, Tumpat.

"Tumpat police confirmed receiving a report regarding the incident and the case is still under investigation," he said in a statement today.

Amran urged those with information to immediately call the Kelantan Contingent Police Headquarters at 09-7450999 or the Tumpat District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 09-7257222.
"I seek the cooperation of the public not to make any speculation that can jeopardise police investigation," he said.
