PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin May Have Lost Majority Support Coming Up To The September Parliament Date with possibly 120 MP's Opposing Him

Does PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin  have enough numbers to remain as prime minister if there is vote of confidence count in the September Parliament session .

Article 43(4) states: “If the prime minister ceases to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the House of Representatives, then, unless at his request the Yang di-Pertuan Agong dissolves Parliament, the prime minister shall tender the resignation of the Cabinet.”

Let's do a simple count.

As of 11 August 2021 this is a rough estimate of where the 220 Members of Parliament stand from what they have voiced out in the media, Bear in mind 2 Seats are vacant .

Pakatan Harapan leads the Opposition bloc - DAP (42), PKR (35) Amanah (11) with 88 MP's

With Muda (1), Pejuang (4), Warisan (8) , PSB (2), UPKO (1) One Independent MP (Simpang Renggam) openly against  PM Muhyiddin that will give the opposition block another - 17 MP's

That will give the opposition bloc -105 MP's

With the 15 UMNO MP's who have pulled back support for PM Muhyiddin , that should give the opposition bloc a total of 120 MP's

This leaves PM Muhyiddin with about 100 MPs (including himself) minus the two vacant seats.

Even if the rumour is true that the MP from Kuala Langat and two other MP's from PKR are supporting PM Muhyiddin, the numbers still wont be enough for him to win the vote of confidence in September....as it stand's now.

Be rest assured he won't go down without a decent fight.

We will update the numbers as more MP's declare their stand in the media.
