Khaled confirms resignation as  Boustead Chairman tomorrow

Kuala Lumpur: UMNO Vice President Mohamed Khaled Nordin confirms that he will step down as Chairman of Boustead Holding Berhad tomorrow (Thursday).

In a WhatsApp post to Astro AWANI, Khaled also confirmed his resignation letter which was also followed on social media.

"Yes (will resign tomorrow)," he said.

Mohamed Khaled previously served as The Menteri Besar of Johor from 2013 to 2018 and under his leadership, the state saw steady growth.

Mohamed Khaled, who holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from the University of Malaya, is the nominee of Boustead's largest shareholder, Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).

On Wednesday, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah announced his resignation to express support for the party's decision.

Shamsul also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who gave him the opportunity to serve before.

Earlier, Muhyiddin stressed that he still had majority support and the issue of his resignation as Prime Minister did not arise.

He also informed the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Istana Negara on Wednesday, that he had  declarations from members of parliament which he said still gives him majority support.
