Injured MAHB worker in Subang Airport accident passes away

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) employee who was involved in an accident at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport runway on Monday (March 18) has passed away.
“After two days of intensive medical care, 39-year-old Mohd Ruzaimi Iskandar Ahmad Razali passed away at 6.45pm on Tuesday (March 19)” said MAHB.
He leaves behind his wife, Nor Azawiah Md Usuf and four children, aged between one and 13.
“As we grieve with the family, we urge all media and the public not to speculate and to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” said MAHB in a statement.
“He stood out amongst his peers and the management as a talented individual with exemplary work ethics. His passing is a tragic loss for Malaysia Airports.”
MAHB chief executive officer Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin said that the company's priority is to assure that the family is looked after.
“We are extending our full support to the family members of the deceased and facilitating funeral arrangements. Our priority is to ensure that the comfort and welfare of the family is taken care of,” said Raja Azmi.
The accident which occurred on Monday involved an airport engineering vehicle and a private aircraft on the airport runway.
MAHB said that Mohd Ruzaimi was the driver of the vehicle and was critically injured in the 3.20am incident, with the Airport Fire and Rescue Service team arriving at the scene one minute later.
In an earlier press release, MAHB said that it is cooperating fully with the authorities as a full investigation is carried out.
"We are working closely with the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) and Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Transport in the investigation," it said.
