Former Raja Permaisuri Tengku Puan Zanariah Tengku Ahmad has died.

PETALING JAYA: Tengku Puan Zanariah Almarhum Tengku Ahmad , the stepmother of Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has passed away aged 79.

News of her death was posted on Sultan Ibrahim's social media pages on Monday (March 18).

Tengku Puan Zanariah was previously known as Sultanah Zanariah, the second consort of Sultan Iskandar. They were married in 1961.

She was also the Raja Permaisuri Agong from 1984 until 1989.
