ALOR STAR: The Form Two pupil from a Sungai Petani school who suffered a brain haemorrhage after being allegedly assaulted by three others on Sunday is now more stable and expected to be discharged in the near future.

State Health Director Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said attending doctors succeeded in removing a 50cc blood clot from the teen's right side of the brain in an hour-long surgery on Monday.

"He is still under observation by specialist doctors. The duration of rest he needs will depend on the development from time to time because we want to ensure he is truly stable," he told reporters after visiting the victim at the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB), here Wednesday.

In the 10am incident Monday, The teen suffered a haemorrhage in the head, apparently after hitting a wall during the fight with the trio.

Following the incident, the Sungai Petani magistrate's court on Tuesday allowed a remand order for three days on the four suspects in the bullying case.

Meanwhile, the victim's father said he was thankful that his son had regained consciousness and showing positive signs including regaining his appetite. – Bernama
