Haron Din Expressed Wish For Burial In The United States



KANGAR: "PAS spiritual leader Datuk Haron Din had expressed his wish to be laid to rest in the United States if anything were to happen to him there," said Perlis Pas Commissioner Mohd Shukri Ramli.

According to Shukri, the message was conveyed to his family and several Perlis Pas members at Darussyifa' treatment centre in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 10, before he left for Stanford Hospital in San Francisco for heart treatment.

"We just could not shake the uneasy and sad feelings we had when he said that before he left for California.

"Although we were prepared for the worst case scenario, news of his passing at about 10am this morning still came as a shock to us.

"It is such a huge loss to everyone in the party, especially as the late Datuk Haron was very firm and dedicated when it came to upholding Islam," he said when contacted today.

Shukri said a special prayer and tahlil will be held tonight at Pas state headquarters for Haron, who passed away at Stanford hospital after he was admitted to the intensive care unit due to his critical condition.
