PETALING JAYA: Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has lodged a police report regarding the two bank officials implicated in the latest 1MDB article by the Wall Street Journal.(http://www.wsj.com/articles/behind-the-1mdb-scandal-banks-that-missed-clues-and-bowed-to-pressure-1473109548)

Lim, who made the report at about 11am at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Saturday, told members of the media that he waited four days after the publication of the story to see if any explanation or statement would be issued by the authorities and banks regarding the report.

“Until now there were no explanations from Bank Negara, Bukit Aman and also AmBank,” said Lim.

Lim explained that the WSJ story alleged that two AmBank officials assisted Malaysian businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as “Jho Low” in transferring monies from 1MDB to the private bank account of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“We want the police and bank to investigate and to give us an answer. In my report I have also listed down laws that I felt have been broken,” said Lim while adding that he especially urged the police to investigate the two officials listed in the WSJ story.

He added that he would pass a copy of his police report to Bank Negara and call them to investigate the matter as well.
