Hired killer shot dead in USJ 11, Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA: The prime suspect in the shooting of two brothers at a traffic light junction in Batu Caves last week was shot dead by police here.
The man, an ex-convict with drug offences, was sleeping in a stolen Proton Wira parked in front of a house along USJ 11/1D here at about 12.10pm.
“Police approached the car for inspection and showed him their identification cards.
“The suspect took out a Glock pistol, forcing police to open fire in self-defence,” Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said.
The suspect has five previous cases of drug-related offences and intentionally causing hurt using a dangerous weapon.
The 37-year-old man was also arrested under the Emergency Ordinance.
DCP Abdul Rahim said the suspect was sleeping in his car when members of the public informed police of the suspicious vehicle.
He said police found three bullets loaded in the suspect’s gun chamber, in addition to finding clothes and food supply in the Wira that was reported stolen in Kepong.
According to DCP Rahim, the suspect has been on the run and was living in the stolen car since the shooting in Batu Caves on June 21.
“He was involved in more than 12 armed robberies. We have been actively hunting him down since the incident.
“We were able to track him down due to information provided by the public.
“We are tracking down his accomplice,” he told reporters at the scene.
The body will be sent to Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem.
The two brothers were shot less than a kilometre away from the place where they had earlier repossessed a car.
They had turned up to repossess a car outside a budget hotel in Batu Caves on June 21
They were, however, met with resistance when two men tried to prevent them from doing their job.
Less than a kilometre away, they stopped at a traffic light junction at Jalan Besar Sunway Batu Caves, oblivious to the fact that the two men who had tried to stop them earlier had caught up with their car.
One of the men walked up to the elder brother’s car, opened the door and shot him before walking to the second car and doing the same to the other brother.
The two brothers survived.
