There is no set dress code for public who wish to deal with government departments and agencies

No dress code, just suitable to our culture: Azalina

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no set dress code for public who wish to deal with government departments and agencies, said Minister in Prime Minister's department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
In a written parliamentary reply she said the public can wear clothes that are suitable to their traditional customs and according to Eastern values while dealing with government agencies.
"The government will entertain those who wear unsuitable clothes. The heads of department can advise the public on suitable clothing guidelines while dealing with government departments," she said in reply to a question from Datuk Dr Marcus Mojijoh (BN-Putatan).
Marcus had asked whether the government has set a dress code for public who wish to deal with the government departments and agencies.
Marcus also asked if they fail to comply, state the action that will be taken and the reaction of public acceptance on the matter.
In the past, there have been cases where the public were not allowed to enter government departments for wearing short skirts or other clothes that were considered not suitable.
