PUTRAJAYA: India's prime minister Narendra Modi paid a courtesy visit to his Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Monday.
Modi arrived in Kuala Lumpur last week to attend the 27th Asean Summit, and Monday marks the start of his first official visit to Malaysia.
Modi, who arrived at 9.40am, was greeted by Najib together with other Cabinet ministers and delegates at Perdana Square in an official welcoming ceremony.
He inspected the guard of honour before attending bilateral meetings.
Both Najib and Modi are expected to witness the signing of several memorandums of understanding in the area of performance management, project delivery and monitoring related to government programmes and delivery.
Other areas include cybersecurity and cultural exchange programme agreements between the two governments.
