KOTA KINABALU: A mother and her four daughters were killed in a horrific accident on the Kimanis road in the Crocker Range about 90km from here.
One of the victims' two-year-old son survived, but is reported to be in critical condition.
Papar district police chief Deputy Supt George Rahman said the driver, Nur Fitriati Sukarno, 28, was on her way from Tawau to Kimanis with her siblings, Triana Nur Khasanah, 34; Eka Sudarmono, 37; Dwi Rahmahyanti, 35 and their mother Supiati Mohd Salleh, 53.
They died instantly in the crash due to head injuries.
"Triana's son is being treated for serious injuries at the hospital," he said when contacted.
It is believed that Nur Fitriati lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash and overturn in the accident.
