Woman in viral video charged with committing mischief

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman who was captured on video, allegedly while harrassing her neighbour, was charged in a Magistrate's Court here for committing mischief by damaging her neighbour's property causing a RM5,000 losses four days ago.
Teh Siew Lian, 46, was accused of allegedly damaging the property of Tan Kai Choy, 58 at No 5, Jalan 7/27D, Section 6, Wangsa Maju here at about 11am on Dec 15.
Teh was charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
The charge was read to her in Mandarin before magistrate Ashraf Rezal Abdul Manan on Friday.
However, Teh did not seem to understand the charge after it was read to her.
Magistrate Ashraf Rezal then ordered Teh to be sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, for observation.
The court fixed Jan 19 for a mention pending medical report.
Norazlin Mohd Yusoff was the deputy public prosecutor while counsel C. K. Foong appeared for Teh.
On Dec 17, it was reported that a woman who has been terrorising her neighbours for several years has been arrested by police.
The woman had allegedly been very confrontational with her neighbours in Wangsa Maju and eight police reports had been lodged against her.
One of the neighbours, who only wanted to be known as Tan, 58, said the woman had been that way since she moved into the neighbourhood more than six years ago.
He claimed that she sprayed water on his late wife, followed her around and even spat on her.
He also alleged that she shattered his car windows with marbles and also damaged two other cars belonging to his family.
He further claimed that the woman smeared paint all over a Perodua Myvi belonging to his son’s girlfriend.
