Man commit suicide after slashing wife’s wrists, feet

KLUANG: A 47-year-old unemployed slashed both the wrists and ankles of his wife with a parang before he took his life by consuming pesticide and hanging himself at the balcony of his house in Taman Suria here yesterday morning.
The incident occurred before the eyes of their only ten-year-old son and the man's mother about 11am.
It is learnt that the woman, K. Menaga, 46, who worked as a kitchen cleaner in Singapore, returned from work about 10.30am before the couple embroiled in a heated argument, which ended in the man assaulting his wife with a parang.
Police found the dead body of N. Marimuthu when they arrived at the house at Jalan Kedondong 4. Both the wrists and ankles of Menaga were severed and she was found bleeding profusely and lying in a pool of blood.
Her condition was reported to be critical.
Kluang police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Roze Shaari did not ruled out the possibility that the cause of the assault was due to the deceased's jealousy over his wife who is said to have a close relationship with another guy.
"The woman is in critical condition at the Kluang Hospital," he said.
The minor, who was apparently terrified by the incident, immediately called his uncle who immediately alerted the police about the incident.
