Muhyiddin Denies Stepping Down As Deputy Prime Minister
The deputy prime minister said he would continue to serve for as long as he could and given the trust by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"I am still here, alive and kicking. The cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the prime minister. There is a possibility it will happen because he has said about bringing in a few political leaders from MCA and Gerakan.
Until today, there is nothing that crops up which involves my position," he told reporters after closing the 14th Science Council of Asia International Conference, here, today.
Yesterday, the social media and bloggers posted reports on the possibility of Muhyiddin stepping down to focus on efforts to strengthen Umno.
This followed speculation of a cabinet reshuffle by the prime minister to bring in leaders from MCA and Gerakan into the cabinet.

Muhyiddin, who is also Umno deputy president, said he believed the rumour about him stepping down surfaced because of his good relations with the prime minister.
"Perhaps, it is to create instability or factions in the party or government so that they can take advantage of the situation," he added.
