Woman Suffers 85 Per Cent Burns In Seri Rampai Fire

Pic : www.nst.comKUALA LUMPUR: A 27-year-old single mother suffered 85 per cent burn in a blaze that destroyed her bedroom in PPR Desa Rejang flat in Seri Rampai, here, this morning.
The 1am incident also saw her youngest daughter, aged 1, and mother in her 60s, injured after they were trapped in the house.
City Fire and Rescue Department officer Sulaiman Tan Abdullah said they received a distress call on the incident at 1.25am before 41 firemen from three fire stations were despatched to the scene at Level 8, Blok H there.
“When we arrived at 1.35am, the victims had been saved by public members before they were rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
“We managed to control the blaze at 1.58am, before completely putting it off,” he said.
Sulaiman said the master bedroom was badly damaged, while the unit’s kitchen was also affected.
When the NST visited to the scene, a team of fire investigators were seen conducting checks at the house.

The cause of the blaze was still under investigations.
