Retired Air Force Air Traffic Controller- Head of Geng 36 Batu Gajah Shot As Drug Deal Goes Sour

IPOH: The shooting incident at Taman Rishah here yesterday morning where a former Royal Malaysian Air Force man was shot dead was due to a drug deal that gone sour.

Perak CID chief Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said police was going through a close circuit television recording which captured the incident to identify the suspects involved in the case.
"Although the assailant was wearing a ski mask, we are confident of capturing him," he said.


Speaking to reporters here after the handing over of duties of state police chief, Mohd Dzuraidi said initial investigations showed the victim was the leader of Gang 36 in Batu Gajah.
In the 7.15am incident, S. Jambu Keshan, 39, was gunned down in front of his father's restaurant at Jalan Raja Perempuan Mazwin, Taman Rishah.


The former air force personnel shot dead at Taman Rishah here on Sunday was the head of Geng 36 in Batu Gajah.


Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said S. Jambu Keshan, 39, is believed to have been gunned down by rival gang members due to drug-related matters.

"We also believe the shooting is related to a turf war between the victim's gang, Geng 04 and Geng 08," he told journalists here on Monday.

SAC Mohd Dzuraidi said police have taken statements from two witnesses and believed that there were more than two suspects involved in the shooting.

"We are still trying to identify the suspects involved and we believe more people could be involved," he said.

He assured that the situation was still under control and would remain so.
