KUALA LUMPUR: All home tickets for the ASEAN Cup semi-final clash between Singapore and Vietnam were sold out on Sunday, six hours after sales began.
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has warned ticket resellers, that they will not tolerate invalid ticket owners.
Fans started queuing at the Jalan Besar Stadium since the morning, and some even waited overnight. Tickets are sold at prices ranging from S$24 (RM79) to S$49 (RM162), and can only be purchased at stadiums, a move that the FAS said is to ensure a "fair distribution of tickets" for supporters.
Tickets sold out at 6.30 pm.
Channel News Asia portal reports that there are match tickets for sale on the e-commerce platform Carousell. Most of them are priced between S$60 (RM199) and S$95 (RM315).
The first semi-final match will be held at the 6,000-seat Jalan Besar Stadium on Thursday.
Fans have previously expressed their disappointment that the match took place in a smaller stadium, with many arguing that the FAS should have taken the step of booking the National Stadium earlier.
The change of venue following the schedule change saw the National Stadium unable to be used for this match and the remainder of the tournament, as it had been booked for concert performances.
