You no longer need to go to the post office to send packages, thanks to Pos Malaysia Berhad’s new online shipping platform SendParcel.
SendParcel, a service under Pos Laju, allows users to book deliveries and generate shipping labels or consignment notes online, and for e-commerce businesses even make bulk orders.
The consignment note is generated once a booking is made, with customers required to print it out and then attach it to the parcel.
To use it, customers need to sign up for an account on Pos Malaysia's website, then buy a credit package.
Consumer packages cost RM50, RM100 and RM500, while businesses have larger package options from RM1,000 to RM20,000. These larger packages also come with bonus credit.
Once users have credit, they can make a delivery booking for their packages.
Pickup is free across the board, though delivery costs vary on the size and weight of the package as well its destination.
All deliveries must be to domestic locations, while pickups can be arranged at the sender’s home or office.
Pos Malaysia Group chief executive officer Syed Md Najib Syed Md Noor said the platform allows customers to manage bulk shipment and addresses online, get shipping rates instantly with instant quotes, plus easy shipment reporting and tracking.
“The new platform will certainly benefit the public at large, particularly small and medium enterprises (SME) and micro SMEs as well as e-commerce business players, offering our customers more product options to meet their growing e-commerce needs,” he said, in a press release.
