Azmin: Pakatan pledges full, undivided support to Dr M

KUALA LUMPUR: The issue over a no-confidence vote against the Prime Minister was put to rest in Parliament by Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
"The issue over a no-confidence vote does not arise at all.
"Today (March 12), Pakatan Harapan stress that we will give our full and undivided support to the Prime Minister's leadership," he said in Dewan Rakyat during Question and Answer Time on Tuesday (March 12).
Azmin said this in response to jibes by Tan Sri Annuar Musa (BN-Ketereh) on why Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was not appointed to the Economic Action Council (EAC) although he had vast experience as a former Finance Minister.
In response, Azmin said that Annuar was among those who was against Anwar.
"All of a sudden, today he (Annuar) wants to support YB Port Dickson when he was the one who has been going all out to attack Anwar over the last 20 years," he said.
Annuar said the question of his support will only be known if a no confidence vote arises in Parliament.
"What we are worried is YB Gombak's (Azmin) support (for Anwar)," he added, drawing more heckles from the floor.
Earlier, Azmin told lawmakers the EAC was set up to help spur sustainable economic development for nation.
He said the council would take an inclusive approach by taking into account views of relevant stakeholders before drafting an action plan.
He added the role played by the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) differed from the EAC, saying the CEP was merely an advisory body to the Prime Minister in fulfilling Pakatan's 100-days pledge after coming to power.
