PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin said he was confident the 30-year-old electrical engineering graduate would help PH retain the state seat it won last year.
Aiman will face Barisan Nasional’s Zakaria Hanafi and PSM’s Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul.
Activist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as “Uncle Kentang”, may also join the contest.
The Semenyih state seat fell vacant following the death of its incumbent assemblyman, Bakhtiar Mohd Nor, on Jan 11.
In the general election last year, Bakhtiar defeated BN, PAS and PSM in a four-cornered fight, with a majority of 8,964 votes. He garnered 23,428 votes.
The Election Commission (EC) has fixed polling on March 2, with nomination this Saturday and early voting on Feb 26.
