PETALING JAYA: There are no elements that disparaged Islam in the film “Polis Evo 2”.
The Censorship Board said the team behind the movie has abided by the board’s guidelines.
“The board has watched the entire movie and decided to approve it with the P13 classification,” it said in a statement.
The board was responding to criticism that the movie painted a bad image of Islam.
“The movie depicts the story of two police officers who are tracking down a drug syndicate mastermind on an island.
“In that operation, they were trapped in the midst of an attack by a terrorist group who capture the island's residents and use them as hostage,” the board said.
Overall, the movie tells the story of the police’s efforts to combat crime and rescue civilians, who were victims of the terrorist attack.
