Hotel Tenera "Sajian Nostalgia" 2018 Ramadan Iftar / Buka Puasa buffet - Memang Meletop! @ RM118.00

Our 2018 Ramadan review of the the top spots in the Klang Vallet  to Berbuka puasa or Iftar brought us to Bangi! - Hotel Tenera to review their Ramadan "Kenangan Nostalgia" Buka Puasa Buffet.

Usually i give the verdict at the end of the review but for Hotel Tenera, i have to give it at the start.... the spread was Simply Meletop! Their promise to .."hargai kenangan lama" was well delivered!

Muslim & Non Muslims in Bangi and the surrounding areas must come and try the spread at Hotel Tenera. With more then 40 Live Cooking Stations and one of the best tasting buffet's we have tasted for 2018 this is a must visit spot this Ramadan.

Since the Holy month of Ramadan is not about gorging yourself with food, you are actually supposed to eat the normal portions during Ramadan so for the great spots you will have to make one or two visits to really taste the whole spread.

The folks at Hotel Tenera are very friendly and welcoming, all the chefs here welcome you with a big smile and always willing to describe their fare to you.

We arrived early to take a few pictures before the actual time to break fast and the presentation of the food or "juadah" was simply awesome. It was so appetising that since i was fasting too the last one hour looking at all the food...it was pure punishment!.

Here is why....

At the stroke to buka puasa we broke fast with a short prayer, some drinks and dates. The Spread was huge so each reviewer had to almost taste something different.

My first taste was of the Paru Masak Berlada because while taking the pictures it looked so delicious, it not only looked delicious but it was super tasty.

We tasted the Kek Lobak Goreng, it was different because they actually boiled the ingredients first as such it was not really fried but a little soft but still delicious. The Mamak Mee was delicious too.

The Kari Kepala Ikan was simply fabulous. We were informed by the chef that their Salmon Kari Kepala Ikan was made without any coconut just tomato puree and sauce with spices. Together with the Nasi Buluh it was simply Meletop!

BBQ
The whole roast lamb was simply delicious with the right crisp to the skin on the outside and the succulent meat that melted in your mouth

The Beef and Chicken Satay was very tasty.

As you watched the chefs prepare the Satay and  Whole Roast Lamb you knew they were very good at it and passionate to serve you only the best.

They had a few variety of fishes that you could chose from for the Chefs to prepare for you according to your preference.

The Ayam Golek was uniquely prepared as it was roasted in a pot!

TRADITIONAL MALAY DISHES

The Traditional Malays Dishes that were simply meletop! ...and brought back memories of some tasty traditional Malay dishes were Siput Sedut in Gulai Lema, Tulang Kambing Gulai Kawah, Asam Pedas Daging Tetel, Rendang Ayam, Clams in Chillly, Asam Keladi Ikan Kembung and Rendang Daging.

The makana laut dalam kava was also very tasty

The Nasi Ayam Melaka was quite unique with its balls of  rice.

Having Lidah Bakar Mulut Senget was a first for me as its usually in a soup but it was quite good.

The Mee Rebus Gear Box was very tasty, it's not everywhere you get Mee Rebus and Gear Box together.

For those who love noodles they Bakso Mas Raden was a crowd favourite.

The Rojak Cucur Udang was another crowd favourite

The Murtabak was fabulous with the curries too

The bubur lambuk and Sup Ekor was really full of flavour.

For those who like to start with Malay Appetiser and Ulam Ulaman they had quite a good variety here..

For Vege Lovers they had a Aneka Pilihan Sayur Goreng Stall

CHINESE

They also had a Chinese section at the buffet and believe me they had some of the best tasting Dim Sum, Chicken Pau and Lok Lok, that you can find at a Ramadan buffet.

SEAFOOD

There was no shortage of Seafood, as they had some very fresh Oysters, Mussels, Clam, Crabs and Prawns.

SUSHI
They had quite a good variety of Sushi to satisfy your needs for some Japanese. Surprisingly they were quite good.

DESSERTS

For Dessert that has some tasty traditional Malay kuih, a variety of cakes, mousse and Pastries.  Ice Cream and ABC is simply a must have in all the buffets!.

They had a  Goreng Goreng Makcik Stall with all your favourite goreng pisang, ubi keledek and others.

They had quite a variety of seasonal fruits,  one reviewer polished of a plate of Rambutans very easily.

They a kacang putih man too, riding around on a bicycle handing out different nuts

DRINKS

The drinks were good too and they were good throughout the night!. The had 8 types of cold drinks, teh tarik and coffee. My favourite was the Cendol!

To keep the kids entertained big and small, they had two "Power Rangers" characters present too.

OVERALL

Overall if you enjoy travelling for great tasting food you must try the Ramadan fare at Hotal Tenera . It was Simply Meletop and one of the best tasting Ramadan Buffets we have had. Hats off to the Executive Chef Sahisal Azrul Mat Said

The only drawback is that it was in a tent in the outside although there were several air cooler blowers all over the place it was still quite warm so dress accordingly!
