Pregnant woman among two killed in highway crash

     
    SEREMBAN: A pregnant woman were among two people killed in a highway crash when a Toyota Wish car they were travelling in with six others skidded at KM 279.4 of the North-South Expressway Monday.
    Negri Sembilan Traffic Staff Officer ASP Zainudin Ahmad identified the deceased as Suzan Safarina Rosli, 30, from Bandar Jengka Pahang, and Nadiah Hidayayul Syima Mokhtar, 28, (rpt: Nadiah Hidayayul Syima), from Gelang Patah , Johor Baharu.
    He said the car driver, Zulfahizzat Mokhtar, 27, and Maya Mayree Zarul Hidayat, aged two years, were seriously injured in the crash, while four others sustained minor injuries.
    They are Zarul Hidayat Mokhtar, 32, Mohd Izwan Amir Hamzah, 31, Faudziah Mohd Ali, 59, and Fairel Zhafran Mohd Izwan, 12, he added.
    Zainuddin said the crash was believed to have occurred when Zulfahizzat lost control of the car, causing it to crash into a lamppost and skid before landing on its side.
    The victims, believed to be related, were coming from Johor and heading to Kuala Lumpur, he said when contacted here.
    He said Suzan Safarina, who was eight-month pregnant, and Nadiah Hidayayul Syima died while undergoing treatment at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital here.
    Passers-by also helped to send the injured victims to the hospital, he added. - Bernama\
