KUALA LUMPUR: With just a day to go before Malaysia rolls out the red carpet to welcome Asean leaders for their 26th Asean Summit, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak visited the meeting venue at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to personally look at the final preparations.
The Prime Minister spent more than two hours on Saturday visiting conference rooms to ensure that everything is ready.
He also spent time to watch the rehearsal performance for the Sunday night’s gala dinner to honour the Asean leaders, their spouses and guests.
Malaysia holds the Asean chair for this year, under a system that is rotated between the 10 member states in the region.
Since the bloc’s inception in 1967, Malaysia has held the chairman post in 1977, 1997 and 2005.
