KOTA BARU: The couple sold burgers but they could not care less if they made a profit or broke even for the day.
The stall was merely a front for their drug trafficking business, which got busted yesterday.
The couple, in their 20s, were caught with 1,000 pil kuda (amphetamine pills) and a big stash at their home in Kampung Terusan Limbat, Kubang Kerian.
“The state narcotic task force raided the house and found RM85,000 in cash and the pills worth RM25,000,” said Kelantan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mazlan Lazim at a press conference.
Also arrested was a man believed to be related to the couple.
The three were remanded and the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death sentence upon conviction.
In an unrelated narcotic bust, a police task force arrested two suspects, aged 19 and 20, at Jalan Kampung Cina and Kampung Wakaf Zin, Bachok, on Saturday.
Confiscated were 800 pil kuda with a street value of nearly RM20,000.
