Special task force formed to track 'Tailong Man'

MALACCA: Police have formed a special task force to track a Facebook user who goes by the name of `Tailong Man` who posted a death threat against state police chief Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye and his officers.

The posting was uploaded after police shot dead two men believed to be Gang 36 members in Cheng near here on last Thursday.

 

State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Assistant Commissioner Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the task force was set up to trace the Facebook user and his connections to the gang.

 

The task force is headed by state CID deputy chief Superintendent P.R. Gunarajan and Raja Shahrom as the deputy.

 

"We are also working closely with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to identify the user.

 

"From what we found in the Facebook account, there are pictures of two men uploaded into the account with the 36 logo in it. We believe these two pictures can lead us to the real person and their connections with the Facebook user," he said.

 

Raja Shahrom said the suspect was believed to be in the drug dealing business and may possibly be a partner to the two men who were shot dead.

 

“We don’t rule out the possibility that the suspect was outraged over the deaths and wanted to avenge his two business partners," he said. 

 

It was reported that the Facebook user had posted: "KETUA POLIS MELAKA-360/// MAU HANTAM SAMA LU PUNYA ANJING-ANJING. LU JAGA SAMA LU PUNYA ANJING-ANJING KASI MAKAN CUKUP-CUKUP. WA PANCUNG SEEKOR-SEEKOR LU PUNYA ANJING! LU SUDAH KASI SIVA SAMA RAJA TIDUR, LU INGAT LU SUDAH BAGUS? JAGA LU ORG!"

Meanwhile, Raja Shahrom urged the Facebook user to come forward and members of the public who have any information regarding the case to assist in investigations.

 

The case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

 

The offence carries a maximum seven years jail.
