GENNEVA MALAYSIA DIRECTORS HAULED BACK TO THE COURTS, THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE CHARGED WITH 915 COUNTS OF MONEY LAUNDERING

KUALA LUMPUR: Former directors of Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd Datuk Philip Lim Jit Meng and Datuk Tan Liang Keat pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here to making false statement in an advertisement on the company's website saying its gold trading was in accordance with Islamic law.


Their company also face a similar charge.
The case has been set for mention on Oct 28.
They were granted bail of RM20,000 each.
were now taken to another Sessions Court to face more charges.
Later, in another Sessions Court, Lim and Tan, together with Datuk Lim Hah Heng and Datuk Ng Poh Weng, were charged with eight counts of accepting deposits without a valid licence via a scheme involving gold transactions under the Banking and Financial institutions Act 1989.
The four faced two charges each under the Act.

They are also expected to be charged with 915 counts of money-laundering.
The offences were said to have been committed between Jan 10, 2011 and Oct 1, 2012.
