After Najib, Rosmah's judgment goes viral

26 August 2022

KUALA LUMPUR - Previously, the judgment document against the case of former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak involved the funds of SRC International Sdn. Bhd. went viral on social media before the official verdict was read out at the Federal Court on Tuesday.

Today the same incident is happening again, a document that is alleged to be a judgment paper related to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's corruption case involving a hybrid solar project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak worth RM1.25 billion went viral on social media.

A document consisting of three pages of the decision paper in the case was first circulated on the Malaysia Today portal today.

The decision of the case should be read in the High Court on September 1.

According to the operator of the portal, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Rosmah's guilty decision has already been written in the judgment

“You can see the three-page summary of the 74-page written judgment below. However, the written judgment was not written by the trial judge. It is written on behalf of the trial judge by an unknown person or persons. The judge's job is only to deliver the decision next week," said Raja Petra Kamaruddin.

However, it cannot be ascertained whether the three documents he shared in the portal are genuine or otherwise.

As of this writing, there has not been any statement from the Office of the Registrar General of the Federal Court regarding the disclosure made by Raja Petra Kamaruddin on the portal.

Previously, on 23 August, the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court clarified that the viral document which was claimed to be a judicial decision paper related to Najib's appeal case was a draft that had not yet been finalised.

His side also confirmed that the document in the form of a working draft of the judgment was leaked and modified.

The clarification follows a report by the Malaysia Today portal titled Najib Razak's SRC Appeal: THE JUDGMENT which was published on the same day that Najib's decision was read out by the Chief Justice, Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat in the afternoon.

"This office found that the judgment posted on the portal was a working draft for the judgment in three appeals regarding the case of Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Abdul Razak v PP which was leaked to the media.

"This office confirms that the leaked working draft of the judgment is a working draft that has not been finalized.

"The final judgment was only delivered in open court at approximately four hours on the same date. It was found that the leaked document had been modified," he said in a statement.

The media previously reported that UMNO Youth will make a police report regarding the spread of a document that is alleged to be the decision of the Federal Court Judges on the Najib case.

Its head, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki said the police report was made so that an immediate investigation could be carried out into the spread of the document.

"It is very surprising when a document that is said to be a paper of the judgment of the Federal Court Judges against Datuk Seri Najib Razak's SRC Case appeal went viral even though the court proceedings are still ongoing," he said
