KUALA LUMPUR, March 8  -- In celebrating International Women's Day, Lazada has awarded 18 successful female entrepreneurs on its e-commerce platform for the second edition of the Lazada Forward Women Awards (LFWA) 2022.

Lazada group chief operating officer, Raymond Yang said it was incredible to witness the remarkable achievements of female sellers across Southeast Asia's digital commerce ecosystem.

"Our Lazada sellers have continued to innovate and adapt their businesses to the e-commerce environment, cater to their customers and enhance the product offerings.

“Hence, we are proud to journey alongside these winners and create a world that is diverse and inclusive," he said during the ceremony broadcast live on the LazLive channel today.

This year, Lazada recognised the female entrepreneurs across seven award categories, namely, the Rising Star, Bricks to Clicks Tech Adopter, Creative, Enterprising, Inspiring, Social Star and the top honours, Lazada Forward Woman of the Year Award given to six sellers from each country that Lazada operates in -- Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The award categories demonstrate the resilience and can-do spirit of female business owners pursuing and realising their entrepreneurial vision, and beyond achieving economic success, they are also role models, contributing back and creating impact within their local communities, according to Lazada.
