KUALA LUMPUR - Puchong Member of Parliament, Gobind Singh Deo garnered the highest number of votes in the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) election, today.
A total of 93 candidates contested with only 30 selected for the new CEC
Former DAP secretary -general Lim Guan Eng, who had to resign after holding the post for three terms, ranked eighth with 1,311 votes.
The second highest place was Chow Kon Yeow who got 1,641 votes and Anthony Loke who got 1,625 votes.
Also listed are Nga Kor Ming (1,262), M. Kulasegaran (1,226), Lip Lim Eng (1,156) Chong Cheing Jen (1,154), Teo Nie Ching (1,071), Ronnie Liu (1,070) and Liew Chin Tong (1,008).
Meanwhile, Young Syefura Othman is the only Malay candidate elected to the DAP CEC with 991 votes. The Ketari ADUN is ranked 24th.
Lim Guan Eng has been elected as the National Chairman of DAP, Gobind Singh elected as National Deputy Chairman while Anthony Loke has been elected as Secretary General.
