Nasharudin Mat Isa to be charged with graft

PUTRAJAYA: Former PAS deputy president Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa will be facing several charges related to money laundering on Tuesday. (Oct 22).
Nasharudin, 57, will be brought to the Shah Alam Sessions Court to face the charges, said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today (Oct 21).
The MACC said in a statement that he will be charged with committing offenses under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
“The MACC arrested Nasharudin at 2pm when he presented himself at the headquarters to complete the final process of investigation.
“He was later released on MACC bail, ” said the anti-graft agency.
Nasharuddin, who was also the chief executive officer of the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation were among PAS leaders who were called by graft investigators earlier this year over claims that PAS had received RM90mil from Umno.
