PUTRAJAYA: A Datuk has been released after spending three days in remand, following allegations that he received kickbacks for arranging projects involving a ministry during the previous administration.

The 50-year-old, who had served as a special officer to a Barisan Nasional minister, was released with a RM30,000 bail.


Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim also ordered his passport be surrendered.

The man was remanded on April 30 after he was arrested the day before by investigators, who had called him in to answer allegations in the case.



Investigators are also said to be looking for several individuals, as well as suppliers, nationwide who had previous dealings with him.

He is also believed to have arranged for this particular project to supply equipment to military aircraft sometime in 2017.
