KLANG: It is Amiruddin Shari.
The 38-year-old Sungai Tua assemblyman was sworn in as Selangor's 16th Mentri Besar on Tuesday (June 19).
Amiruddin took his oath of office and was sworn in before Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah.
He has taken over the post to replace Datuk Seri Azmin Ali who had moved to the Federal Government to assume the post of Economic Affairs Minister.
According to sources, three names - Amiruddin, Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad and Seri Setia assemblyman Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin - had been submitted to Sultan Sharafuddin for perusal and selection.
Amiruddin was Selangor exco member for Youth Development, Sports, Cultural and Entrepreneurship Development prior to his appointment.
He is also a former manager of the Selangor Football Association and had led the state football team in the Malaysia Cup finals in 2015 and 2016.
A Social Science gradute from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Amirudin was a programme coordinator at Institute of Policy Research.
He is married to Masdiana Muhamad and they have six children.
